Proximity: Field Service Execution Mobile Application

The new Field Service Engineer (FSE) application provides your field technicians everything they need and more to get the job done out in the field.  FSE is part of the Proximity Suite of applications, designed to work in ERP.  We designed the entire Proximity Suite to be easy to install, easy to use, and beneficial for your organization from day one.  Field Service Engineer

Simple List of all Orders a Technician is responsible
We pulled together the high level information a field tech needs to see at a glance for all the orders they have been assigned.
Full Details for the Order
By selecting any order, the technician can quickly see all the details they need to know about the order, include header, operations, components, partners, costs, and much more.
Create Confirmations for Time and Materials
The technicians can quickly create a confirmation for the order for time and materials.
Works with or without an internet connection
Since there isn't internet everywhere, or some locations don't allow it, FSE will save your work and submit the notes or confirmations when you have a connection available.

How to Use FSE

Field Service Engineer is designed to be easy to use.  Because everything is done using the Netweaver Gateway, it means that once the gateway is configured in your system, FSE is ready to be used in your organization.  In order to setup FSE enter in the following information in the settings screen.

FSE Settings

  1.   Demo System:  if you would like to try out FSE using the JaveLLin test system, simply turn this on.  It will connect you to the correct system with a user.  If you are ready to use this in your own system, be sure to turn this off.
  2. Service URL:  this is the location of all your services within your system.  Basis should be able to provide this information for you.
  3. Username
  4. Password

Everything else can be left blank.

Now, in order to take full advantage of FSE, you should set your user up in the ERP system.  You have the option of the following information you can use to narrow down the orders you are looking for.

  • user responsible:  if you assign the partner type of VW to the service orders, this option is one of the best.  It will check on both the header and operation level.
  • Customer:  if you assign a SP partner to an order, and your technician is responsible for that customer, you can use that criteria.  You can assign as many customers as you want to a user ID.
  • Equipment:  if you are really down in the details, we've provided you the ability to assign certain equipment records to your technician.
  • IBase: if you use the install base functionality, you can even assign a technician to one or more installed bases in your system
